Where laminate is used, both our thicknesses meet the same IS:2046 Type S standard, so durability is not the deciding factor. Seal cut edges well and keep very hot vessels off any laminate.

Yes. Kitchen laminates are high-pressure laminates with a hard wear layer that resists heat, moisture, stains and scratches far better than untreated stone or paint. They are widely used for backsplashes, cabinet shutters and table tops. Still avoid resting very hot pans directly on the surface to maximise its life.

Many use the 1mm Artis line on the visible faces and table tops, and the lighter 0.8mm Woodrica or Artvio lines on cabinet shutters and vertical panels. The split is about feel and budget, not durability — both meet the same IS:2046 Type S standard; spend the 1mm where the eye lands.
